Hello everyone,

This blog was started as a means of communicating ideas to the group, since that isn't always easy on the Facebook group page.

I would like to thank each of you for joining the group and making it into the tremendous blessing that it is! God has been very good and has blessed me beyond measure through each of you and your comments.

I, along with the other admin, have been trying to think of ways to improve the group and to reach more people. If you have any ideas, please feel free to pass them along to me.

One idea I have is to start a monthly newsletter for the group. So many comments, prayer requests, praise reports, events, etc. do not get the exposure that they should because of how quickly the wall grows. By having a newsletter, we can post those comments, prayer requests, etc. there and it would be seen by all subscribing members. We would also include a devotional thought, Bible verses, encouraging words, etc. in the mailing. There are many possibilities that we could pursue (a missionary section, a kid's sections, humor section, health section, business section, etc.). I think it would be a great way to nurture the fellowship already started on the group and to lift one another up in prayer.

I wanted to throw this idea out to you and get your opinions. Again, this is just an idea at this point, but if the desire for such a publication and resource is there, then we can make it a reality.

I need to point out, though, that there would be a significant cost involved to sent a newsletter to a potential audience of over one million people (one quote I got was $1700 to send a mailing out to 100,000 people). I wish I could pay for it myself, but as a lay missionary and a father of three, I don't have the financial resources to do so. :) Therefore, in order to make this happen, each subscriber would have to pay a one-time minimal subscription fee ($0.50 or $1). I know that money is tight these days, with the economy in the shape it is in. So, the choice is up to each of you.

I have created a survey to poll the members that is found at the very bottom of this page. Please vote on whether you would be interested in subscribing to a Calling All Christians newsletter (and willing to pay a one-time minimal subscription fee of $0.50 or $1 (depending on the price to mail the newsletter).
